Everybody eats when they come to my house...

Ingredients:

4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) soft butter
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
pinch of salt
1 tablespoon milk
1 tsp vanilla

Method:

Cream butter and work in icing sugar bit by bit.  When you come to the point that it’s hard to add more icing sugar, add the vanilla and milk.  Then work in the rest of the icing sugar.  You can tweak this by adding more milk.  Quantities will depend on what you’re using the frosting for: icing a cake, or decorating cookies.

You can turn this into chocolate icing by adding 1/3 cup cocoa.

When I make a double batch of Christmas cooky cutouts, I make a triple or quadruple batch of this frosting.
